The theme of the e-TREE project is 'generation based on diversity'. e-Trees are tree shapes generated according to each DNA data based on an algorithm with a principle that can be found in nature. The data of the e-treesβ DANs are about Annual freshwater withdrawals, CO2 emission and so on for the about 200 countries. DNA determines the length of each branch of the e-Tree. The trees generated based on the algorithm have each identity (DNA), so they are created rather than duplicates. The from the βManual of the Mustard Seed Garden (θ₯εεη΅θ) to βe-TREEsβ is the exploration of the process of creating computational objects based on data and algorithms and the new way of artistic expression to draw a tree. This is a work that originated from my long-standing concern about the restoration of cultural identity.
